PART 99: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 37-Wednesday 17th May 2023
Chelsea (M.Batshuayi & L.Baker) 2 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (M.Dembele x3) 3
Stamford Bridge
Crowd: 41,505

Ty Stedman-"We had a mission coming here tonight. It was paramount that we ended our winless run against Chelsea. They've been an extremely difficult team to beat and to see them off at Stamford Bridge is by far our biggest league win of the season.

Chelsea threatened and made it tough for us but Moussa Dembele played his best game in Grimsby colours. He was ruthless in front of goals and it was vital in the end. Chelsea did score a late goal to make it 3-2 but it wasn't enough. We're delighted with the victory and with United losing, we only need to worry about Arsenal. Fate is in our hands."

Premier League-Matchday 38-Sunday 21st May 2023
EVERTON (S.Berahino, J.Gomes & K.Dowell) 3 def. Grimsby Town (Oscar) 1
Goodison Park
Crowd: 38,567

Ty Stedman-"It's heartbreak. That's all I can use to describe this. We were on the verge and to be fair we weren't good enough today. That being said, there's nothing that takes this feeling away. To get so close to the Premier League title and lose it on the final day just kills us.

Everton needed a win to seal a spot in the top four so congratulations to them. They beat us 5-0 earlier in the season and they're a quality outfit. Despite Oscar's wondergoal from the free kick, we weren't good enough. I have a heartbroken team that I need to reinstall confidence in for the Champions League Final. We have two weeks to plan and we'll do just that. We can't let this affect our mentality for that game."

UEFA Champions League-Final-Saturday 3rd June 2023
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar & M.Dembele) 2 def. Chelsea (M.Pasalic) 1
San Siro
Crowd: 71,919

Ty Stedman-"This team has done so much. So, so much to make this possible. The pain we've been through has suddenly all gone away. The Premier League title loss is a distant memory. This is as good as it gets. 20,000 fans in black and white shirts in the middle of Milan singing our praises. It's Grimsby's greatest moment no doubt.

Our start was so similar to the EFL Cup Final. Chelsea took an early lead due to our defence opening up but we turned it around. Trent Buhagiar's goal was as vital as any we've ever scored and then Moussa Dembele's shot. Wow. Seeing that ball roll over the line like that was just amazing.

And as good as those two goals were, the final whistle was the moment for us. It threw away the pressure, the desire to bring home the club's first piece of major silverware. I don't know if there's a team in Europe whose only major prize is the biggest one of them all. This is amazing."
