PART 97: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

UEFA Champions League-Quarter Final 2nd Leg-Weds. 19th April 2023
Grimsby Town 0 def by. ARSENAL (F.Cervi) 1
GRIMSBY TOWN Progress 3-1 on Aggregate
KCOM Stadium, Hull
Crowd: 24,956

Ty Stedman-"Well that was the greatest loss in the club's history. Jokes aside, we knew we couldn't afford to let Arsenal get the early advantage. Our job was simple, we didn't need to go out there and bang in any more goals. We needed to hold onto what we had and when Arsenal did eventually score, it was too little, too late.

The job was done in the first leg and now we head to the Semi Finals against Barcelona. We never saw this coming but now that we're here, it's simple. We just go for it and see what we can do. Not many gave us a chance to get out of the Group Stage so to be in the final four is a huge moment for us."

The Emirates FA Cup-Semi Final-Saturday 22nd April 2023
Grimsby Town 0 def by. WATFORD (Kenedy x2 & R.Morales) 3
Wembley Stadium
Crowd: 86,523

Ty Stedman-"No I wouldn't call Watford our bogey team. They've been a solid side for six or seven years now. The team they have is one of the best in that club's history and today they proved why they're in the top six at the moment. We were blasted off the park in what was one of the most one-sided first half displays I've seen.

Our gameplan was undone, ripped apart and we were no match. It's not as heartbreaking as the first time this happened five years ago because we weren't in this one today up till full time. We were well beaten and the positive is we're still alive in Europe and indeed the Premier League title race. I'm sorry to our fans who once again showed up in huge numbers."

Premier League-Matchday 33-Wednesday 26th April 2023
Brighton & Hove Albion 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (M.Rojas, M.Odegaard & Oscar) 3
AMEX Stadium
Crowd: 24,295

Ty Stedman-"It was always going to be difficult to back up after another cup exit on the weekend. We came here tonight knowing we needed to produce the sort of football that saw us blast Brighton last time we played them. They're struggling at the moment which is unfortunate and we punished some mistakes again tonight.

I'm always praising our depth and it was all about them tonight. Marco Rojas strolled through their defence early on and put us in the ascendancy straight away. We didn't look back and on another day we could have scored six or seven again. I feel for the Brighton fans. They'll unfortunately be relegated."

Premier League-Matchday 34-Saturday 29th April 2023
Grimsby Town (M.Dembele-PEN) 1 def by. TOTTENHAM (L.Tousart & R.Civelek) 2
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"There can't be any complaints about the way we lost. We were outplayed on the day but it could be a very costly loss in the title race. We came into this game expecting a challenge and that's exactly what we got. There's not much else you can do about it.

Arsenal move above us but we'll stay focused on the games ahead. They have United on the final day so it's all still to play for. We can only beat what is in front of us and we weren't good enough to do that today, despite taking the lead from the spot."
