PART 96: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 30-Saturday 1st April 2023
GRIMSBY TOWN (Oscar) 1 def. Leicester City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,030

Ty Stedman-"Another big win for us. Similar to the Middlesbrough game two weeks back when we just dominated and were unable to cash in on our chances. Leicester threatened a lot on the counter attack as they normally do so there were a fair few nervy moments.

Going into the last eight games of the season, this is a big three points and it keeps us on top for now by two points over Arsenal. We have Swansea next and then the Champions League Quarter Finals against Arsenal so these next few weeks could and probably will define our season."

Premier League-Matchday 31-Saturday 8th April 2023
GRIMSBY TOWN (S.Byram) 1 def. Swansea City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,042

Ty Stedman-"Superb. We completely controlled today's game and although we left it a little later to get the winning goal than we would have liked, we looked strong throughout the entire match. Swansea aren't the easiest team to play on their day so these three points are as vital as any we've picked up this season.

We've got arguably the biggest game in the club's history coming up against Arsenal on Tuesday night so to win today with a team that isn't our strongest shows the true character of this side. If we win anything this year, it's thanks to our amazing depth."

UEFA Champions League-Quarter Final 1st Leg-Tuesday 11th April 2023
Arsenal 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (Adama, Oscar & T.Buhagiar-PEN) 3
Emirates Stadium
Crowd: 60,078

Ty Stedman-"I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, the job is only half done but we've blitzed them tonight. Arsenal at the Emirates is as tough as any football match comes and to score two away goals in the first twenty minutes just put us in ascendancy like nothing else could have.

Trent Buhagiar's penalty was well taken just after half-time and although they hit the post twice, we were probably unlucky not to get one or two more. This was one of the best performances we've ever produced and it comes at the very best time. We'll take a 3-goal away lead into the 2nd Leg and it's something we can't throw away."

Premier League-Matchday 32-Saturday 15th April 2023
GRIMSBY TOWN (D.Sturridge x2, J.Bosetti & T.Buhagiar) 4 def. Hull City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"I wasn't sure how we'd back up from the 5-star performance against Arsenal. Hull were tough to get past but once we made it 2-0 midway through the 2nd half, they sort of crumbled under pressure. We could have scored one or two more in the end. It was a solid second half display.

Liverpool beat Arsenal which leaves us again two points clear of the Gunners. With six games to go the only thing we can really do is take it game by game. You never know what could happen at the end of such a tight season. There's mathematically a chance that upwards of six teams can still win the league."
