PART 89: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL Cup-Quarter Final-Wednesday 30th November 2022
GRIMSBY TOWN (M.Dembele) 1 def. Manchester United 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"I'm not sure how things went so bad against Everton and again tonight, I'm not sure how we held on in the end. I won't say too much about the refereeing but it's always going to be backs against the wall when our two centre backs are sent off in the last twenty minutes. We held on with nine men against a quality United side.

We've thrown huge importance onto the EFL Cup. It's something we want to win. This club has never claimed a major trophy so now we're into the Semi Finals and one step closer to that goal."

Premier League-Matchday 14-Saturday 3rd December 2022
AFC Bournemouth 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar & M.Dembele) 2
Vitality Stadium
Crowd: 11,123

Ty Stedman-"Bournemouth have been a thorn in our side for a few years now and even though they're struggling, we came here expecting a tough outing. Unfortunately for them, Bournemouth were sloppy and turned it over a fair few times allowing us to really play an open style and punish them at times.

We've had a flat out schedule this season and it's amazing just how well we've done. Our squad depth is incredible and we have talent all over the park. It's not easy to be sitting on top of the Premier League after 13 weeks but we are and we're planning to stay there for as long as we can."

UEFA Champions League-Matchday 6-Wednesday 6th December 2022
Benfica 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (J.Groeneveld-OG & Oscar) 2
Estadio da Luz
Crowd: 61,892

Ty Stedman-"This is in my mind the greatest night in this club's history. We needed the three points against Athletico and we needed them again tonight to progress and we got the job done. The own goal was unfortunate for Benfica but they couldn't have stopped Oscar's shot late on to confirm our spot in the Round of 16.

This team just continues to reach goals that are beyond our wildest dreams and now we have a date with Bayern Munich in the Round of 16. It's a massive achievement for our first season in the Champions League. We'll put that aside for now and re-focus on domestic commitments where we are also flying high."

Premier League-Matchday 15-Saturday 10th December 2022
GRIMSBY TOWN (S.Byram) 1 def. Manchester United 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"This is a complete far cry from our last league game at home. That 5-0 loss sent a shockwave through our squad and we've been clinical in the last four games. All four games have been clean sheets and now we've beaten United to move five points clear at the top of the league.

Sam Byram has been a vital cog in the machine at right back and for him to get a goal is a payoff for all his hard work as of late. United have the likes of Pogba and Griezmann so to keep that clean sheet and pick up such a massive win is a huge tick of approval for our potential this season."
