PART 85: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

UEFA Champions League-Matchday 1-Tuesday 13th September 2022
Athletico Madrid (O.Torres & P.Aubameyang) 2 drew. Grimsby Town (Oscar & M.Dembele) 2
Crowd: 60,043

Ty Stedman-"I've had the honour of taking this club to some of the greatest heights ever seen at a small town club and tonight was perhaps the greatest height yet. We came here to this magnificent stadium to take on one of the elite teams in European football. Straight off the bat, it was a different pace, a different style to the Premier League.

They made some errors at the back and Oscar pounced but instantly they hit back with a wonder goal. Then they scored another superb goal. We knew from there we had to limit their chances and we did just that. Defending in this competition is paramount and it allowed us to build pressure on them.

Moussa Dembele was signed to come here and score goals and he provided the goods yet again. And then, to be completely honest, with the chances we had at the end, we very well could have stole all three points. Tonight was a mammoth tick of approval on our potential at this level."

Premier League-Matchday 5-Saturday 17th September 2022
Arsenal 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar) 1
Emirates Stadium
Crowd: 60,014

Ty Stedman-"Well what else is there to say about that. Arsenal are struggling in the early portions of the season but their class today was second to none and we were probably lucky not to be chasing the game. Staying level was always going to give us a shot at taking all three points and we're starting to develop some confidence.

With Daniel Sturridge and Moussa Dembele starting, our top goalscorer Trent Buhagiar has taken a back seat but to have someone like that come off the bench and just use pace to blitz a tiring Arsenal defensive. This is a big win for the club and our first away to Arsenal since 1894 or thereabouts so this has been a long-time coming."

EFL Cup-Round 3-Tuesday 20th September 2022
MK Dons 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar-PEN & Oscar) 2
Stadium mk
Crowd: 25,767

Ty Stedman-"There'll be some out there who are unaware but we do have a history with MK Dons. Ironically five years ago tonight, in the same competition, I was sitting right here describing our heaviest defeat since my arrival. They beat us 4-0 that night and sent us packing from the cup in embarrassing fashion.

Tonight we came here and wanted to return the favour. We won 2-0 but we should have had a few more. We controlled the game and it shows how far we've come in the last five seasons or so. These cup competitions are something we never really hit our true form in so every win is important."

Premier League-Matchday 6-Sunday 25th September 2022
Grimsby Town 0 def by. CRYSTAL PALACE (C.Benteke & D.Podence) 2
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,019

Ty Stedman-"We've come some way this season towards where we want to be and the style we want to play but that game was so far from the target. It's very disappointing after starting the season so well but honestly, if we produce what we did today, most Premier League sides will punish us.

Losses come and go and I'd rather this sort of performance now then in April or May. It's been difficult to juggle all the different fixtures but we have strong depth and I can't see us having any issues in turning things around after that result."
