PART 80: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

UEFA Europa League-Round of 16 1st Leg-Thursday 10th March 2022
Celtic 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar x2 & R.Poole) 3
Celtic Park
Crowd: 52,129

Ty Stedman-"I'm not too sure what to say after that one. It was a very strange night for us. Celtic's lack of discipline in the first half pretty much gave us a win, there's no question. The early penalty and red card and then their right back getting a second yellow just 25 minutes in and then of course another penalty. It's not often a team like that lose it in that fashion.

As for our performance, I'm delighted to take three away goals as it gives us a big advantage to take home but honestly, against a team with nine men on the field for the majority of the game, three-nil at half-time, we should be scoring six or seven. Ruthlessness is something we've never shown in my time here and on nights like tonight as selfish as it sounds, we want to score more. Simple as that."

UEFA Europa League-Round of 16 2nd Leg-Thursday 17th March 2022
Grimsby Town 0 def by. CELTIC (T.Rogic) 1
Grimsby Town Progress 3-1 on Aggregate
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"We were expecting a spirited fightback and that's exactly what we got. We spoke pre-game about making sure they didn't get an early goal and again, that's exactly what happened. Tom Rogic gave them a lead after just four minutes which wasn't a great start for us.

We took a while to shore things up at the back and we were slightly lucky they didn't get a second goal in the first ten minutes or so. That could have set off all sorts of worrying for us but we held on in the end and were unlucky not to stretch our aggregate lead in the second half. We'll need more in the next round against Rennais but for now we've done the job we wanted to do."

Premier League-Matchday 28-Monday 28th March 2022
Tottenham (M.Rashford) 1 drew. Grimsby Town (D.Sturridge) 1
New White Hart Lane
Crowd: 60,378

Ty Stedman-"That makes it three-straight Premier League draws but tonight was more than that for us. Spurs are hot on our tails and could have leaped us with a win so coming here and leaving with a point is better than nothing. We do lose top spot to Arsenal but the top four is our ultimate target and in such a close season, every point is vital.

I'll admit we were lucky to even get a point tonight with our opener coming from an unfortunate error for Tottenham between defender and keeper. Marcus Rashford's goal was all class and showed why they pursued him so heavily. It's always a high-class game when we take on Tottenham."

Premier League-Matchday 29-Saturday 2nd April 2022
Aston Villa (M.Luongo) 1 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (M.Cruz & M.Alexander) 2
Villa Park
Crowd: 32,848

Ty Stedman-"Today was a very important win for us. We came here without a win in three league appearances and with teams chasing us in the top four, we needed all the points, especially against a team struggling to get off the bottom of the table.

With respect to Villa, I wasn't expecting the sort of fight they brought today. We had a youthful side due to a hectic schedule and admittingly, we wanted to give some younger players a run. We led 2-0 but they fought back well towards the end. We were arguably lucky not to concede a second goal right at the end too. A win but not exactly a convincing win."
