PART 60: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 4-Sunday 13th September 2020
Everton 0 drew. Grimsby Town 0
Goodison Park
Crowd: 38,296

Ty Stedman-"It's not every week that I'd be happy to draw but this isn't a bad result for us at all. Three points is ideal but the way things played out, I thought we were lucky to leave here with a point. They beat us here last season and we had a point to prove. Luck wasn't on our side but thankfully we didn't concede, despite giving them an opening or two.

All in all, after an international break, we're just happy to get a point on the road and we'll look to build on that. It doesn't get any easier because we have Tottenham visiting next weekend but as you've seen, we're not scared to take the challenge to the big teams and we'll do just that."

Premier League-Matchday 5-Sunday 20th September 2020
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar x2 & D.Clut) 3 def. Tottenham (C.N'Jie & V.Wanyama) 2
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"Well what do you say after that. Maybe we should play Tottenham every week because we have the wood over them. Honestly, it was a great game and I believe fans of other clubs would have been on the edges of their seat all game.

Defensively, both teams were error-prone. We gave them that early goal and despite it being just the 3rd minute, you can't let a team like Spurs get a chance like that. Then of course the penalty and then another error from us giving it away and then yet another penalty. A crazy first half.

I tried to bring it down a little bit at half-time. We wanted to just calm the game down and try and absorb some pressure. That formation we used was new and something we've been working on and it worked wonders. That winning goal, we almost fluffed it but it just rolled in somehow. It was our day and we're absolutely delighted with the three points."

EFL Cup-Round 3-Wednesday 23rd September 2020
Grimsby Town (Adama) 1 def by. MANCHESTER CITY (A.Silva) 1
(Manchester City Win 3-1 On Penalties)
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,042

Ty Stedman-"It's early season heartbreak for us tonight. We were delightful in the way we played but discipline lacked and we found it fairly tough with ten men. Not taking chances came back to haunt us and City fought their way from behind to take it to extra time. We had our chances to win it but again we couldn't.

Once it gets to a penalty shootout it's anyone's game to win. Their keeper did the job and guessed the right way a couple of times and luck was with them. All our penalties were on target which is all you can plan for really. Apart from that, it's a lottery most of time. As I've been saying, the EFL Cup was a competition we wanted to focus on but it's not to be."

Premier League-Matchday 6-Sunday 27th September 2020
Grimsby Town v Manchester City
Stadium of Light
Crowd: 42,689

Ty Stedman-"It's a world of difference from where we were after the Tottenham win last weekend. We just weren't really in it today and struggled to match it with a Sunderland squad keen to push further up the table. You don't get easy games in a league like this and we certainly can't afford to show up and not put in 100% each and every game.

We obviously had the cup midweek but that's no excuse. Our performance wasn't up to our standards today and Sunderland just pounced on some poor defending. We'll come good and put this one behind us quickly."
