PART 52: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 18-Monday 30th December 2019
CHELSEA (M.Pasalic & L.Remy-PEN) 2 def. Grimsby Town 0
Stamford Bridge
Crowd: 41,287

Ty Stedman-"I didn't think we were too far off the pace today. Chelsea obviously were always going to be the favourites and very tough to beat but we played some decent football. Unfortunately that penalty right on half-time really killed off our chances of making a comeback. We were able to produce better defensive football in the second half.

On the penalty, of course I'm expected to say it wasn't but in my mind I thought that was a very soft call. That happens from time to time but yes it's frustrating to concede like that right before the half-time break."

Premier League-Matchday 19-Saturday 4th January 2020
Grimsby Town 0 def by. NORWICH CITY (Y.Mulumbu) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,004

Ty Stedman-"Frustrating games have been the story for us over the past few weeks and today was no different. The only goal of the game came on a counter-attack after we were denied what I thought was a penalty. That's all that separated the teams today and Norwich just held on in the end.

All in all, we're still mid-table and we're still in a position to call this a successful season. Relegation isn't a concern and now the busy festive period is over, we can focus on getting back into a bit of a routine."

Premier League-Matchday 20-Tuesday 7th January 2020
Grimsby Town 0 drew. Watford 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,051 (SOLD OUT)

Ty Stedman-"I wouldn't say tonight stems the bleeding. There wasn't too much bleeding going on, more so a mid-season slump if anything. And a draw in my eyes isn't what we wanted. We played some good football, much better than we've done so in the last few games and we could only get a point.

I sung Watford's praises during the week and they are flying high at the moment in 3rd. We've certainly found it difficult to beat them and once again they proved to be too good on the night. If anything, keeping a clean sheet tonight probably pleases me more than leaving here with a point. It's a confidence-boost for our defenders."

The Emirates FA Cup-Round 3-Saturday 11th January 2020
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar-PEN) 1 def. Reading 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,960

Ty Stedman-"We enjoy playing Reading. We've had some intense matches over the past few seasons, the two league games last year were great but it was the FA Cup game two years back that takes the cake. Trent Buhagiar's 92nd minute goal to send us into the next round. Fortunately we didn't need that long today.

We got that penalty fairly early on and we were able to keep another clean sheet which is brilliant. I thought we had the better of the chances for the majority and on another day we probably should have made it two or three-nil. We'll take a ticket to the next round where we've drawn Chelsea so obviously more will be needed for that one."
