PART 51: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 14-Sunday 8th December 2019
SWANSEA CITY (L.Fer) 1 def. Grimsby Town 0
Liberty Stadium
Crowd: 20,676

Ty Stedman-"I'm disappointed after losing that one with a late goal. Luck went against us as I thought we had a penalty there with ten minutes to go and then a minute later they get a goal that wins them the game. We had enough time to get one back and we deserved a point. We played some good football but come away with nothing. That's Premier League football for you."

Premier League-Matchday 15-Saturday 14th December 2019
Grimsby Town (T.Buhagiar-PEN) 1 def by. LEICESTER CITY (A.Musa x3 & D.Amartey) 4
Blundell Park
Crowd: 7,554

Ty Stedman-"I could sit here and mention how much everything went against us. The weather was poor, the 50/50 calls, the bounce of the ball, it was one of those days. That being said, the brand of football we displayed today is not what I'm striving for. I'm very disappointed with our effort and our result.

We allowed Leicester's attackers to have a field day and we were ripped open on the counter-attack several times. Musa's hat-trick was all class but we shouldn't be allowing that many attacking chances. We just didn't show up. Our whole team had an off day and it happens from time to time. That's the biggest home loss I've had here and I'm not happy at all. We'll be working this out of our systems."

Premier League-Matchday 16-Saturday 21st December 2019
WATFORD (A.Doucoure) 2 def. Grimsby Town 0
Vicarage Road
Crowd: 20,523

Ty Stedman-"I wouldn't say our season is in freefall, I think that's a bit of a stretch. We didn't expect to be challenging for the top four or even the top six so things aren't that bad. We had a strong start and it's fallen away as of late but to say we're in freefall isn't accurate just yet. It's shaping to head south but we're not there just yet.

We have the Christmas break to think things over and just reset where we are. We have players who have sat patiently on the sidelines waiting for a chance and with our squad just not doing the job as of late, you'll see some changes in the next game, both in personnel and the way we play.

I'm not a manager who'll continuously keep the status quo if it's not paying off for us. We've lost four straight across all competitions and we're simply better than that in my mind."

Premier League-Matchday 17-Friday 27th December 2019
GRIMSBY TOWN (J.Allen) 1 def. Hull City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,823

Ty Stedman-"The way things have gone for us as of late, I guess you could say this was a very welcome late Christmas gift for us. The fact that we kept at it until the very end and pulled off an unlikely stoppage time win shows that we were very desperate to put some poor form behind us.

The team we fielded obviously was missing a few regulars due to our match with Chelsea in a couple of days but the players that came in did the job that was asked of them. Oliver Bozanic was superb in midfield and played through the pass the won the game. Jordan Allen's first goal of the season couldn't have come at a better time."
