PART 49: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Premier League-Matchday 8-Saturday 19th October 2019
Southampton (B.Jeannot) 1 drew. Grimsby Town (D.Smith) 1
St Mary's Stadium
Crowd: 30,756

Ty Stedman-"There's not too many Premier League grounds where I'll leave saying that I'm disappointed with a draw. It's that sort of competition. You want to win most home games and you aim to win away but grounds like this are just very hard to win at.

Southampton to their credit came roaring to life in the 2nd Half. We led through Dominic Smith's maiden goal for the club and it was nice to see a header go in as we don't score too many off of corners. That said, we dominated the first forty-five and should have led by two or three at the break. The 2nd Half though, we're very lucky to escape with a point. They fought back well."

Premier League-Matchday 9-Friday 25th October 2019
Grimsby Town 0 drew. Stoke City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,919

Ty Stedman-"Three-straight draws at this stage isn't bad at all considering the start we pulled off. We still sit in the top half of the table but saying that, I thought we just weren't up to it tonight. It's not very often we play league games under lights, we're getting used to it now in the Premier League but something was off about our performance.

Stoke can take points off anyone on their day so credit for the way they came here and stuck it to us. We had to work hard not to lose it in the end which says a lot about their style."

EFL Cup-Round 4-Tuesday 29th October 2019
Rochdale (J.Rafferty) 1 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar x3) 3
Crown Oil Arena
Crowd: 2,892

Ty Stedman-"Tonight was a bit different to what we've dealt with recently. A very low crowd but an intimate environment and a change from away venues like the Emirates and St Mary's. We fielded a squad that again wasn't our strongest and we were blown off the park in the 1st Half.

I didn't come here expecting to walk over Rochdale but I didn't expect them to do that to us. We were poor in the 1st Half and should have been well out of the game. They played some brilliant football for where they are in the league rankings.

Last EFL Cup game we left most of our starting eleven at home but tonight we had a couple on the bench and really it was Trent Buhagiar who changed things for us. The penalty was cooly converted and then two goals in a short time to record a hat-trick. You'll be pressed to find a better bench cameo this season. All in all, the job was done, not very well but we'll move on to the next round."

Premier League-Matchday 10-Sunday 3rd November 2019
AFC BOURNEMOUTH (J.Clarke-Salter-OG) 1 def. Grimsby Town 0
Vitality Stadium
Crowd: 11,254

Ty Stedman-"No other way to put it. Luck just wasn't with us today. Football does that to you. One week your goalie pulls off an unbelievable save or your striker scores off a rebound, the next this happens, an unfortunate deflected own goal that ultimately decides the game.

Do I think we deserved a point out of this, maybe. But the luck went Bournemouth's way and it happened late enough to not really give us a chance at pulling back to level terms. We can't afford to let this sink in or anything as we have both Manchesters back-to-back and then two games against Tottenham. Things are about to go to another level for us."
