PART 4: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL League Two-Matchday 9-Saturday 24th September 2016
LUTON TOWN (J.MCQUOID x2) 2 def. Grimsby Town 0
Kenilworth Road
Crowd: 8,792

Ty Stedman-"I'm not going to lie, this defeat has really hit us. I thought we bossed the early stages and we missed one or two key chances that should have seen us in front. Both their goals were a result of simple defending errors that we don't normally make. There's no sugar-coating where we sit. We haven't won in five games and sit 18th. It's got to change soon. Luck just wasn't with us tonight."

EFL League Two-Matchday 10-Saturday 1st October 2016
Grimsby Town (O.Bogle & T.Buhagiar) 2 drew. Accrington Stanley (T.Gornell & J.Clark) 2
Blundell Park
Crowd: 6,934

Ty Stedman-"There has to be mixed feelings tonight. I was absolutely livid with our defending early on. We practically gave away a goal in the first five minutes. Then their goal on half-time was a real punch to the stomach but to our credit we rallied in the second half and made a match out of it. I don't think I'm wrong in saying we had the chance to win it late on. It's another two points dropped but it's a building block towards some stability. We need defensive improvement though.

To make matters tougher for us, we had two guys go down injured tonight. Dominic Vose out on the wing and our captain Ben Davies both sprained their ankles and early prognosis says about three to four weeks for both of them. It's a killer blow at this stage but Craig Disley will slot in for Vose and it'll be a starting debut for a late signing in Liam Kinsella at right back. We've got Scunthorpe midweek which for our fans is the biggest game of the year so far."

Checkatrade Trophy-Round of 32-Tuesday 4th October 2016
Scunthorpe United (S.Dawson) 1 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (O.Bogle) 1 (Grimsby win 5-4 via Penalty Shootout)
Glanford Park
Crowd: 8,864

Ty Stedman-"It was a nervy way to pick up our first win in a month or so. We came here tonight knowing full well what this game meant to our travelling supporters. The history and the magnitude of the local derby wasn't lost on us and I thought we gave a great showing. The shootout could have gone either way but it went our way and we're delighted. This was a night for our die-hard fans to enjoy."

EFL League Two-Matchday 11-Saturday 8th October 2016
Wycombe Wanderers 0 drew. Grimsby Town 0
Adams Park
Crowd: 9,212

Ty Stedman-"I can't say I'm pleased with how today went. Simple fact is we're currently sitting closer to the bottom of the table than the top and we haven't won a league game in over a month. It has to stop. That being said, Wycombe were a tough opponent and had a fairly vocal crowd. No excuses for us though. A beautiful day weather wise, a nice pitch and scenic surroundings. A quality ground but not the result we came here for."
