PART 39: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFL Championship-Matchday 26-Tuesday 8th January 2019
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar-PEN & J.Berrett) 2 def. Bolton 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,257

Ty Stedman-"Teams just keep giving us penalties. That's three games straight where we've been fouled in the box and Trent Buhagiar rarely misses. A penalty in the first ten minutes gave us a chance to lead and we never looked back. We choked a lead last time against Bolton so it was nice to put those demons behind us."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

New Signing:
Thuram OUT, Fornaroli IN

Ty Stedman-"I've seen a few comments about this signing made on social media. Marcus Thuram is a quality player but the deal we've done here is almost too good to be true. We've traded him to Australian powerhouse Melbourne City plus a bit of money and in reply we now have their top goalscorer. Bruno will prove himself to be vital for us. I have belief in that."

The Emirates FA Cup-Round 3-Saturday 12th January 2019
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar) 1 def. Everton 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,030

Ty Stedman-"It wasn't too long ago that we were here after a loss to Everton in the League Cup and now we've done the job against them in the FA Cup. We have belief that on our best day or night, we can knock off the big teams and Everton are exactly that.

Trent Buhagiar's third minute goal gave us a lead and we held on firm throughout the majority of the match. Our defending is our strongest point and we possess what I'm told is the best defensive record in English football at the moment. We fight for every win and we're damn happy to be progressing."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFL Championship-Matchday 27-Saturday 19th January 2019
Nottingham Forest 0 drew. Grimsby Town 0
City Ground
Crowd: 20,223

Ty Stedman-"There wasn't too much different about today's game to the one last month against Forest. Both games ended nil-all which shows the level both teams are at. We can't be split so to speak. Both teams had chances but as seen in a lot of our fixtures, the net just couldn't be found."

------------------------------------------------------------------------

EFL Championship-Matchday 28-Saturday 26th January 2019
Grimsby Town (A.Collins) 1 drew. Bristol City (W.Burns) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,291

Ty Stedman-"I have to give credit to both sides tonight. Bristol for coming here and really firing some questions at us early on. They scored and they were unlucky not to get another one or two. We beat them three-nil at their ground so it says a lot about that squad's belief. And of course our comeback and to have a fullback score an equaliser with five to go shows that we never say die."
