PART 33: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL Championship-Matchday 4-Saturday 25th August 2018
Grimsby Town 0 drew. Birmingham City 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,742

Ty Stedman-"Scoreless draws right. I'm sure my opposing manager will come in here and say the same thing. We're sick of drawing games and again, both teams had chances and wasted them. We know that first win is coming and when it does it will hopefully kickstart our campaign."

EFL Cup-Round 2-Wednesday 29th August 2018
Grimsby Town (M.Thuram x2) 2 def. AFC Wimbledon 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 6,806

Ty Stedman-"We were a little worried with our lack of goalscoring form in the league but we managed to put that aside. Marcus Thuram hit some form with a cracking goal from the edge of the box. We'd never played Wimbledon in my two years here as they were promoted and then relegated so we avoided meeting them. They'll push League Two's big teams. As for us, we have Everton at home next round in a fairly big clash."

Transfer: Carters Out and Burgess In:

Ty Stedman-"Ewan Carter has been sold to FC Barcelona. He was one of our brightest youth products and starting to break into the First Team but I'm not going to deny a move to one of the world's biggest clubs. As such, we were paid fairly well and we've invested in another defender, Fulham's Cameron Burgess.

EFL Championship-Matchday 5-Saturday 1st September 2018
AFC BOURNEMOUTH (C.Wilson) 1 def. Grimsby Town 0
Vitality Stadium
Crowd: 10,424

Ty Stedman-"A tight 1-0 loss to the ladder-leaders isn't bad on paper but I'm disappointed as we played better than what the scoreboard might suggest. We fluffed our lines at the attacking end of the field and one defensive lapse led to their goal. On another day we could have got a lot more from this game."

EFL Championship-Matchday 6-Saturday 15th September 2018
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar & M.Thuram) 2 def. Reading (L.Kelly) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,412

Ty Stedman-"There was a lot of emotion poured out after that final whistle. No tears of joy or anything like that but a pure relief that we finally broke that winless run and proved that we're in this division to stay. Reading scored early but we fought hard and got back into it. Breaking that winless drought could be the catalyst for us to build some form."
