PART 3: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL League Two-Matchday 6-Saturday 10th September 2016
Grimsby Town (B.Davies) 1 drew. Plymouth Argyle (D.Fox) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,120

Ty Stedman-"The only way to describe today is frustration. We gave away a very sloppy goal early on which has been a bit of a habit so far this season. We need to improve our focus at the start of matches.

It was a cracking header from Ben (Davies) to draw us level but then we missed several crucial chances late on to grab a win. And against the top side in the competition it's painful to let the chances slip by the wayside. We did prove ourselves as a serious side that's looking to make a push for promotion, whether direct or via the playoffs."

EFL League Two-Matchday 7-Tuesday 13th September 2016
CRAWLEY TOWN (J.Collins) 1 def. Grimsby Town 0
Broadfield Stadium
Crowd: 4,789

Ty Stedman-"Ultimately I have to put my hand up and admit I got it all wrong. I changed up our formation and we went with a one-striker system that just didn't pay dividends unfortunately. We changed back to our regular formation once they scored and improved a lot but it wasn't enough. It's still early days and we have plenty of time to get it right. There's no concern just yet."

EFL League Two-Matchday 8-Saturday 17th September 2016
Grimsby Town (T.Buhagiar) 1 drew. Newport County (M.Randall) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,033

Ty Stedman-"It's again a tough one to take. We were the better side today and Trent scored a decent goal but we couldn't get the win. With respect to the opposition, they sit below us on the table so a home game against a lower-ranked side not ending in a win has to go down as a disappointment. That being said, we were lucky to get a point so late on."

EFL Cup-Round of 32-Tuesday 20th September 2016
PORTSMOUTH (N.Hunt & A.Linganzi) 2 def. Grimsby Town 0
Fratton Park
Crowd: 16,392

Ty Stedman-"This loss hurts the most due to the fact that we'd overcome so much in the first two rounds. Now we bow out and miss out on a chance to travel to White Hart Lane to play Tottenham in a big-time TV match. Portsmouth dominated us and we simply didn't bring what was required. We have an important league fixture against Luton coming up and we need to get back on track."
