PART 24: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL League One-Matchday 26-Monday 1st January 2018
Portsmouth (M.Doyle) 1 drew. Grimsby Town (T.Buhagiar) 1
Fratton Park
Crowd: 16,723

Ty Stedman-"Firstly a happy new year to the media personnel here, our sponsors, players and of course our fans. The players had a quiet night at home for New Year's Eve as we knew we were in for a tricky away trip. Portsmouth is a difficult place to come to and I'm fairly happy with a point. We didn't want to leave here empty-handed."

EFL League One-Matchday 26-Thursday 4th January 2018
GRIMSBY TOWN (O.Bogle & R.Phillips-PEN) 2 def. Oxford United (C.Maguire) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,892

Ty Stedman-"This whole Christmas and New Year period has been flat out for us. Today we had a bare-bones line-up with midfielders forced to play up front and just a mess of a formation. Somehow we pulled it off. Reece Phillips took the penalty late on. He's never scored a goal for us and he's only 17. He was our main penalty option though with so many of our main attackers out.

I'm delighted our youth and reserve players did so well. We've got Sunderland in the FA Cup on Tuesday night so I thought the first team deserved a good week off to recharge the batteries. We've been hoping to draw a Premier League team in the cup competitions and it's happened."

The Emirates FA Cup-Round 3-Tuesday 9th January 2018
Grimsby Town 0 drew. Sunderland 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,997

Ty Stedman-"Overall we're absolutely delighted with our performance tonight. From the get-go, Sunderland were superior in every way and played a brilliant game. We survived many scares and Lance Morgan was top-shelf in goals all night.

I think the roof nearly blew off at the end there were Marcus Thuram had the chance to score a header. He was inches away from winning us the game so we'll take that moment as a confidence-builder. We'll need everything we've got for the trip to the Stadium of Light."

EFL League One-Matchday 27-Saturday 13th January 2018
Bury 0 drew. Grimsby Town 0
Gigg Lane
Crowd: 3,714

Ty Stedman-"We've got the replay against Sunderland on Wednesday so again I rested a few of our key players. The players we put out there did a quality job and we limited Bury to few chances. Just like the other game against them, neither team could get the upper hand. A point away from home isn't the worse thing."
