PART 18: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL League One-Matchday 7-Tuesday 12th September 2017
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar-PEN) 1 def. Sheffield United 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,111

Ty Stedman-"Well what can I say. This team performed so well today against a former heavyweight of English football and now as a result we're top of the league with Notts County dropping points. It's great to see two promoted sides occupy the top two but we're absolutely delighted to take top spot and we'll aim to keep it for as long as possible. It's early days and way too early to talk about titles or promotion."

EFL League One-Matchday 8-Saturday 16th September 2017
Grimsby Town (M.Thuram & J.Wilson) 2 drew. Southend United (S.Ebanks-Blake & A.Ferdinand) 2
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,523

Ty Stedman-"Credit to both sets of fans for creating a brilliant atmosphere for a brilliant game. I've seen a match report headline or two calling it one of the better League One games in recent years. Southend are a quality opposition and you know you're in for a test when players the calibre of Anton Ferdinand is heading in goals. It was a real battle and we'll happily take a point to stay top of the league."

EFL Cup-Round 3-Wednesday 20th September 2017
MK DONS (K.Agard, P.Downing, N.Maynard & D.Powell) 4 def. Grimsby Town 0
Stadium mk
Crowd: 11,295

Ty Stedman-"As much as I would have liked to have skipped this press conference I won't. We weren't up to it at all tonight and that's easy to see looking at the scoreline. I'll admit my faults for throwing every man and his dog forward at 2-0 hoping to get back into it. In cup ties, my belief is simple, it's better to try at 2-0 and lose 4-0 then sit back and defend.

I on behalf of the team will be the first to extend my apologies to the fans that travelled two and half hours to come and watch us play tonight. MK Dons now play Tottenham at home which could have been us. We'll bounce back believe me but this one hurts us."

EFL League One-Matchday 9-Saturday 23rd September 2017
Chesterfield 0 def by. GRIMSBY TOWN (M.Thuram x2 & L.Rose) 3
Proact Stadium
Crowd: 6,672

Ty Stedman-"The 4-0 cup loss really hit us hard and we set out to put it behind us quickly. Today's performance did just that. Chesterfield have been a consistent in this division so to beat them 3-0 shows that the side have potential to go to that next level. Marcus Thuram has overtaken Trent Buhagiar at the top of the goalscoring chart so it's nice to have some friendly competition between our strikers."
