PART 15: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

Ty Stedman's Comments On Upcoming Season:

"Yes it's great to be back in competitive mode after a really successful and beneficial pre-season. We competed in the invitational pre-season tournament over in France and won it which gives us a nice bit of extra revenue and our supporters have been amazing in signing up for season tickets.

We've had to let a couple of players go due to financial pressure but we're in a brilliant position heading into a new season in a higher division. Our main signing for the season is a striker by the name of Marcus Thuram from French 2nd Division side Sochaux.

Marcus is an unknown but we've made a lot of contact with his management and I managed myself to get over there for their final league game last year. He'll add something up front to what Trent Buhagiar and Omar Bogle already have. At this stage, Marcus' role is purely to put pressure on those two up front and try and take the starting spot.

Again we've promoted some players from our youth team and its the goalkeeper we're most excited about, Lance Morgan. It's a nice story for Lance as he's come from a tough background and he's wearing our number one shirt this season at just 16. He'll go places if he continues his improvement.

We've also brought some youth players over from Australia. We sent our chief scout to the Central Coast area of New South Wales due to our club partnership with the Central Coast Mariners. Owen Griffiths has signed on to be our back-up keeper and Reece Phillips will be pushing for a spot on the right wing.

We're opening the season at home against Port Vale so it'll be nice to have that first League One game on our own patch. The home advantage will be a boost. The whole vibe at the club is strong as the team haven't played in the 3rd tier in twenty years so it's been a long time coming to make it back this far."
