PART 10: Grimsby Career Mode-FIFA 17

EFL League Two-Matchday 28-Saturday 14th January 2017
STEVENAGE (B.Kennedy & L.Kinsella-OG) 2 def. Grimsby Town (T.Buhagiar) 1
Broadhall Way
Crowd: 3,822

Ty Stedman-"After ten-straight wins, we can't be too disappointed with a loss. In this competition, to go ten games without dropping a point is a massive ask so it was never going to last forever. That being said, we played one of our worst games of the season today. Liam Kinsella has been a great pick-up for us but had a horror moment at the back with the own goal. We'll move on fairly quickly from this."

The Emirates FA Cup-Round 3 Replay-Tuesday 17th January 2017
Grimsby Town (O.Bogle) 1 def by. NORWICH CITY (R.Brady) 1
(Norwich win 3-1 on Penalties)
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,912

Ty Stedman-"It's heartbreak really. There's no other way to put it. We had a near sell-out crowd, the biggest of the season, up against a team fighting for promotion to the Premier League. They were quality all night but we grabbed that late goal to send it to extra time but once again we were foiled in the penalty shootout. Absolutely awful for our FA Cup journey to end like that but we have promotion on our minds now and can focus entirely on that."

EFL League Two-Matchday 29-Saturday 21st January 2017
GRIMSBY TOWN (J.Wilson, J.Berrett & T.Buhagiar-PEN) 3 def. Notts County 0
Blundell Park
Crowd: 9,015

Ty Stedman-"I'm not going to lie. We treated this game as if it was a playoff final. Notts County have been a quality side this season, second only to Plymouth and today we put on a magnificent display to beat them 3-0. Credit to both sets of fans for showing up today and especially our supporters who today came extremely close to a sell-out.

Two competitive sides in front of a near-capacity crowd. It doesn't get any better and the football we played today was in my eyes the best of the season. Notts County have lost two league games all season, in fact take the cup into account and we've beaten them twice. Not an easy ask."

EFL League Two-Matchday 30-Saturday 4th February 2017
GRIMSBY TOWN (T.Buhagiar & O.Bogle) 2 def. Exeter City (R.Simpson) 1
Blundell Park
Crowd: 8,267

Ty Stedman-"We've played Exeter three times now. The first game was a hard-fought scoreless draw and then of course we put three unanswered goals past them in the FA Cup. I'm not sure what happened to them that night in the cup but they came to play today. It was as hard a match as we've faced.

Trent Buhagiar and Omar Bogle's partnership up front is just electric. As the media has mentioned, they've combined for 27 goals but more importantly, they've got 15 assists which helps as well. A lot of those assists are to each other and as you all know, Trent is the leading goalscorer in League 2.

We're playing good football at the moment and our goal of playing in the playoffs might be surpassed by the time we're done. This is a team that is starting to believe we can push hard for automatic promotion to League 1."
