REVIEW: NPL Semi Final 1st Leg (Saturday)

Broadmeadow Magic 3 drew. Edgeworth F.C 3

A spirited late comeback has kept Broadmeadow Magic alive in the NPL Semi Final. Bren Hammel opened the scoring from the spot but it was cancelled out by Kale Bradbury before half-time. The Eagles soared throughout the first period of the second half and led through goals to Brenton Olzomer and a second to Hammel.

Magic wouldn't lay down and got one back through Peter Haynes from the penalty spot and when Kale Bradbury scored a second from the edge of the box, suddenly the home side found themselves level. That's how it would stay as the game ended and enters a second week evenly poised so to speak.

I feel like Edgeworth will see this one as a chance dropped after leading 3-1 mid-way through the second half but three goals away from home is a decent haul and Magic will need to produce the goods if they're any chance of victory next weekend. I'll be there next Saturday and am looking forward to what should be a quality match-up.

In the 22's, Edgeworth are all but through to the Grand Final after securing a convincing 3-0 win over Broadmeadow Magic. It'll be a long way back for the reserve Magicians when they travel to Edgeworth next week. It was glory for Edgeworth's 19's as they won 1-0 over Weston in a tight contest. Crucially the fourth-placed Eagles kept a clean sheet. That could very well come in very handy next weekend when they play the away leg on their home ground.

*Note: Don't forgot, it's Hamilton hosting Lambton tomorrow in the 1st Leg of the 2nd v 3rd Semi Final!
