1st Grade: Lambton Jaffas (2nd) v Edgeworth F.C (1st)
Kickoff: Saturday 25/7 2:30pm
Last Time They Met: Edgeworth 2-1 Lambton

It will be all business when top of the table Edgeworth F.C travel to Arthur Edden Oval to take on 2nd-placed Lambton Jaffas. This result could go a very long way towards determining who lifts the minor premiership in around a month or so's time. One would think Edgeworth have the advantage going into this one as they've had better luck in the bigger games this season, however last week's late loss to Adamstown wasn't exactly an impressive result going into this game.

Lambton's form as of late has been nothing short of impressive. Last weekend's 2-0 away win over Broadmeadow Magic took the Jaffas to within two points of top spot and a win at home at Edgeworth on Saturday will take them to the top with only a few games to play. In my opinion, Edgeworth have a lot more to lose in this one. Top spot is on the line.

I'm doing this week's previews a bit early so I'm not sure of the ins and outs but considering Jaffas star Michael Bridges has been on TV covering the big friendly matches I don't he'll be making an appearance in this one. Still both teams have very good sides on paper and this could very well turn out to be one of the game's of the season.

Edgeworth have won me over this year and are playing a much more entertaining brand of football than they have been in recent years. However my tip on Saturday is going to be the home side as they look to take over on top of the table. Their form is just too good to tip against but an Edgeworth win wouldn't be a surprise at all.

My Tip: Lambton 3-2 Edgeworth

I'm writing the last four previews with an hour to go until I leave to go to the airport so I'll make this very quick and by the way, I'm only doing NPL 1st Grade this week due to the aforementioned time issues. I would have tipped Adamstown going into this one but Maitland though are coming off a decent 0-0 draw with arch rivals Weston, playing that game with ten men for the majority of the contest.

Adamstown's win over ladder-leaders Edgeworth last week came late and they'll be looking to record another win over Maitland after seeing off the Magpies 3-1 earlier this season. A win for Maitland would move them away from the bottom group on the table. I'll go with the draw though.

My Tip: Maitland 1-1 Adamstown

I know this match will end up being one of the more entertaining match-ups as both these sides can produce some good football on their best day. The Jets Youth are just trying to take as many points as they can over the final weeks and I'm sure they'd love nothing more than to dent Hamilton's minor premiership hopes.

Olympic's shock 3-3 draw with South Cardiff hindered their title hopes but with Edgeworth losing, the boys from Darling St. actually managed to pick up a point in the chase for the minor premiership. I think they'll go not just one, but two further this week and pick up all three points.

My Tip: Hamilton 3-1 Jets Youth

Weston were held to a 0-0 draw against arch rivals Maitland last week and need a win against struggling Charlestown City to stay inside the top four. Magic are only three points behind and with a better goal difference, the Bears will lost their top four spot if they lose and Magic win. I can see Weston getting over the line but you never quiet know at this time of the year.

My Tip: Weston 2-0 Charlestown City

I'll be trying to make the trip out to Ulinga Oval on Sunday for this one as South Cardiff look to continue their fight against near-certain relegation and Magic look to keep their fading finals hopes alive. The Magicians have their FFA Cup tie with Heidelberg to look forward to as well. As for my prediction, I think South Cardiff will stand up to the fight but Magic I believe will get the job done. Make no uncertain terms, they have to win to continue their hunt for finals football.

My Tip: South Cardiff 1-3 Broadmeadow
