RESULTS: NNSW NPL Round 9

Note:

I'm not doing in-depth reviews for the NPL this week as I've been busy all day today and need to move onto previewing the mid-week catch-up games. If anyone has results from Edgeworth v Maitland 22's and Edgeworth v South Cardiff 19's last Tuesday night, please let me know. *Just received the 19's result: Edgeworth 2-0 South Cardiff and also that the 22's match was postponed due to Maitland having a different game booked in.

I'll make a quick note on some first grade results. Hamilton proved their worth at the top of the table with a come from behind 2-1 victory at Maitland whilst Lambton were far too good for struggling South Cardiff. At Weston, the Bears secured a tight victory over the top of the table team for a second straight week whilst the Jets Youth couldn't get any points out of their trip to Adamstown Oval.

In the shock of the round and a match where I officially began my tenure as a media man for Broadmeadow Magic, Charlestown City pulled off a daring 1-0 win. I don't remember a game where one team had so many chances hit the post. Magic missed a crucial penalty and will be kicking themselves for not getting anything out of Sunday's game.

Charlestown's luck was certainly up and it's a crucial victory, perhaps even a priceless one that lifts them off the bottom of the NPL table and sees them move to 8th.
