PREVIEW: Rep Round Rugby League

Tonight's ANZAC Test match will be played in horrendous conditions and it will no doubt play a part in the style of play we see. Suncorp Stadium staff had the lights out on the ground yesterday trying to dry out the turf but a large amount of rain has battered the Queensland coast this morning and the ground will be extremely wet.

As for my prediction I can't go past the Kangaroos. The Kiwis have a very strong team and an impressive forward pack but the Australian side should be too good. G.I at the back, Thurston and Cronk in the halves, Smith at hooker, it's really a dream team.

Australia have world class talent across the park but it won't be a cakewalk. The Kiwis have a damn good lineup for tonight's game but history says Australia should win this. They've lost two straight to their neighbours, including the world cup final and they won't want to make it three straight.

The traditional City v Country clash has lost its way in recent times but this year's match looks like it could be a good one. There's a few Origin bolters that will be hoping to use this fixture to impress Laurie Daley and try and earn a Blues jersey for Origin 1 in a few weeks time.

City have bucketloads of talent and pace in their backline with Sisa Waqa, James Roberts and James Tedesco all full of running. Daniel Tupou is a talented winger and Matt Moylan is a big chance of being NSW fullback this year.

Country have their big guns too. James Maloney is in my opinion the crucial puzzle piece for the Country boys and with youngster Jack Bird by his side, Maloney will be keen to boost his chance of securing an Origin jersey with a win on Sunday.

I know City are the favourites but I can't go past Country. In front of a big Wagga crowd, the Country boys will be hoping to beat the Cityslickers. It should be an entertaining match-up on Sunday afternoon.

My Tips:
Australia 22-14 New Zealand
Fiji 20-10 PNG
Samoa 28-22 Tonga
Country 32-22 City
