RESULTS: Northern NSW NPL Youth Round 1

NNSW NPL Under 17's

NNSW NPL U/17's Round 1:

Weston Workers Bears 17's retained their spot on top of the table and moved their unbeaten run to five from five in season 2015 with a 3-1 win over struggling Maitland FC.

Broadmeadow Magic won the 2nd vs 3rd clash with Hamilton Olympic on Saturday. A tight 1-0 result kept the Magic 17's in touch with Weston and was their fourth victory in a row.

South Cardiff's 17's got the job done with a 2-1 result over lowly Lambton. The Gunners moved further away from the bottom group of teams with the win.

The Emerging Jets saw off Edgeworth with a 3-1 result, keeping their spot in the top four alive and overtaking Hamilton in the process.

In the final game of the round, Adamstown pulled off a 1-0 away win at Taree to stay within a win of top of the table Weston.

NNSW NPL Under 15's

NNSW NPL U/15's Round 1:

Maitland and Weston kept each other to a scoreless draw on Saturday which keeps Maitland mid-table and the Bears in 3rd position.

The top of the table clash between Broadmeadow and Hamilton was a high-scoring affair with Magic coming out 4-3 winners. The win allowed Magic to gain a bit of space on top of the table.

At the opposite end of the table, South Cardiff recorded their first win of the season, defeating fellow strugglers Lambton Jaffas.

The Emerging Jets and Edgeworth couldn't be split with a 2-2 draw keeping the Jets in fourth and Edgeworth in eighth.

Finally, an impressive 3-0 win at Taree moved Adamstown's 15's to within one point of the top four. Mid North Coast however will need to re-assess after a disappointing home loss.

NNSW NPL Under 14's

NNSW NPL U/14's Round 1:

Two team struggling to gain any momentum in the Under 14's NPL competition met at Cooks Square Park on Saturday with Maitland and Weston drawing 1-1. The draw was not what either side wanted but they both moved a point further away from last position.

Broadmeadow and Hamilton produced a 2-2 draw on Saturday, which looking at the ladder was a much better result for the Olympic 14's than it was for Magic.

Lambton would have been bitterly disappointed not to gain their first point of the season, going down 3-2 to South Cardiff. The Jaffas are still without a point and in last place.

The top of the table Emerging Jets recorded a fifth straight victory with a 2-0 result over Edgeworth at Speers Point. The young Jets are playing up an age group but looking untouchable at the top of the table.

Adamstown recorded a 1-0 away win at Taree and moved into outright second position. A big victory on the road for the Rosebuds' 14's.

NNSW NPL Under 13's

NNSW NPL U/13's Round 1:

It's a tight race at the top of the Under 13 NPL table and Weston gained a valuable 2-0 win on the road at mid-table Maitland. The young Bears gained some space from 5th placed Hamilton with the result.

Broadmeadow Magic got the job done against Hamilton Olympic and retained their spot on top of the table with a 4-2 victory.

Struggling South Cardiff and Lambton couldn't produce a goal between them in a bottom of the table clash. With two sides that have combined for just six goals in nine games, the scoreless draw shouldn't come as a surprise.

The Emerging Jets took it to unbeaten Edgeworth but would go down 3-2 at Speers Point. The Eagles were just a bit too classy for the mid-table Jets.

Finally, Mid North Coast rocketed to a fourth straight win and added a few goals to their for/against column with a 5-2 result over Adamstown.
