PREVIEW: NRL Round 7

As I mentioned earlier, I'm a bit behind time with my schedule going into this weekend's games. I'll write a few quick words on this one. It seems like most are tipping the Broncos to get the win here but I certainly don't want to write off the Dragons, especially at Kogarah.

The Dragons look good this year and their defending is top notch. I'm not someone who normally goes against the odds so much but I'm confident in the Dragons. I looked at the ins and outs and I'm still sticking with the Dragons. That's not say a Broncos win wouldn't surprise me though.

My Tip: St. George-Illawarra 22-12 Brisbane

I tipped against Manly for the first time in a long while last week and was unfortunately correct. I try not to be too bias but Manly is my team through and through and so far this season has been disappointment after disappointment. Daly Cherry-Evans has made the headlines again and to be honest I'd rather him just commit to either Manly or the Titans and leave it at that.

The Bulldogs are full of injuries and suspensions and that really showed last week against the Dragons. If this game was at Brookvale I'd tip Manly but it's not so I'm going with the home side. The Dogs have had the wood over Manly in recent memory and even though I'm pretty sure it'll be a tight one tonight, I can see the Bulldogs getting over the line. Hopefully not though!

My Tip: Canterbury-Bankstown 22-16 Manly-Warringah

I originally had Penrith penciled in to win this one and then saw the Titans were the favourites going into it. I looked back on last week's results and turns out I completely forgot about the Titans impressive win over Parramatta. That has changed my thoughts about this one.

Losing 40-0 to the Panthers in Bathurst earlier this season will surely have the Titans fired up for some revenge. The Panthers got over Manly last week but they'll need to step it up again against a Titans team that has lifted in recent weeks. I'm going with the home side here.

My Tips: Gold Coast 24-14 Panthers

Despite the Warriors 10 point win over the Wests Tigers last week, I simply can't see the team from New Zealand getting a win in Townsville on Saturday night. The Cowboys are one of the form teams in the NRL at the moment and  have beaten two good sides in the Panthers and the Rabbitohs over the last two weeks.

Beating the defending Premiers 30-12 isn't an easy task so I'm fairly confident that the Cowboys can get the points against the Warriors.

My Tip: North Queensland 26-10 New Zealand

Another tough one to call sees the Storm host the Roosters at AAMI Park. Going on recent form, you'd tip the Storm but that's not how I'm going here. With Billy Slater a certain out and Cooper Cronk in a bit of doubt, the Storm will find it tough against a Roosters side that will be fired up after losing two straight. The boys from Bondi should get the points here.

My Tip: Melbourne 10-22 Sydney Roosters

Sunday afternoon football at Leichardt Oval. Does it get any better than that. The Tigers always fire up big time when they return to their spiritual home and I see Sunday as no different. They've shown good signs this year and this in my opinion is a winnable game for the home side.

My Tip: Wests Tigers 28-12 Canberra

Two sides desperate for a win clash on Sunday afternoon at Hunter Stadium. Neither side looked impressive in their losses to Cronulla and the Gold Coast respectively last week but being a Knights home game, I can't go past the Novocastrians. With good weather on Sunday afternoon, there'll be a big crowd for this one and it should be enough to propel the Knights to victory.

My Tip: Newcastle 24-16 Parramatta

Monday night's game will be a good one at Shark Park. The Rabbitohs are coming off a rather big loss to the Cowboys whilst the Sharks have been impressive in their last two with wins over the Knights and of course that upset win over the Roosters.

The word is that John Sutton and Dylan Walker may be late inclusions which would boost the visitors' chances but Cronulla have of course had an extra couple of days off with their game against Newcastle being played last Friday compared to the Rabbitohs' Monday night game with the Cowboys.

As for my tip, I'm going with Souths. They're a strong side and I think they're good enough to get over the line here, especially if Sutton and Walker are included in the side.

My Tip: Cronulla 12-24 South Sydney
