MLS Week 6 Tips

*First of all, I tipped a Vancouver win on Thursday morning in their match against Columbus Crew which of course ended 2-2.

F.C Dallas v Colorado Rapids:

F.C Dallas played their part in a fairly entertaining match with Portland last week. The Toros were outplayed but they showed some flashes of skill throughout the match. They were extremely close to grabbing an equaliser in the 85th minute if not for Adam Kwarasey's extraordinary save. Portland would score just a couple minutes later to seal the deal.

Colorado meanwhile would have been extremely disappointed not to get something out of their match with New England last weekend. The Rapids had a catalog of chances and stunningly could not find the back of the net. They had a horror penalty call go against them which just added to their pain. It simply wasn't Colorado's day.

FC Dallas are the heavy favourites for this one but they'll have to be a bit weary of a Colorado side that just need a bit of luck to go their way. I'm sure the home side will do enough to grab a win though.

My Tip: FC Dallas 2-0 Colorado Rapids

New England Revolution v Columbus Crew:

I'm not going to write full previews for every MLS game this week as it's just a bit too time-consuming but I'll give a quick thought here. New England were somewhat lucky to get the win in Colorado last week. The penalty that lead to the second goal was a clear dive and should have been waved away but the Revs got the win nonetheless.

Columbus are coming off the back of a 2-2 draw with Vancouver just a few days ago so you'd think fatigue could play a part and the Crew may rest a couple of players for this trip to the North East. I'm going with the home side mainly due to that fatigue factor.

My Tip: New England 2-1 Columbus

Philadelphia Union v New York City FC:

New York started the season in some good form but have hit a roadblock recently. Philadelphia on the other hand will be trying to avoid a fourth straight loss. I'm tipping the home side here. Don't expect a thriller but a 1-0 Philly win is my tip.

 My Tip: Philadelphia 1-0 NYCFC

DC United v NY Red Bulls:

This could be a good one as two North East rivals face off at RFK Memorial Stadium. The Red Bulls are unbeaten in three and can overtake the team from the Capitol with a win. I don't think they can do it though. DC should be too strong at home.

My Tip: DC United 2-1 NY Red Bulls

Sporting Kansas City v Real Salt Lake:

Both these sides picked up wins last week against Philadelphia and San Jose respectively. Both are climbing the table in the West, in fact RSL could set up a top of the table clash with Vancouver next week if they win this one.

Onto my prediction, I'll go with the home side. Kansas City's crowds are always very vocal and they did a good job to get over the line last week. I'm expecting the same here.

My Tip: Sporting KC 2-1 Real Salt Lake

Houston v Montreal:

Coming off the back of a historic mid-week win in the CONCACAF Champions League, Montreal are riding one hell of a high. They're just the second team in MLS history to reach the continental final but I think fatigue will play a part here.  Houston are my tip.

 My Tip: Houston 2-0 Montreal

San Jose v Vancouver:

The Vancouver Whitecaps are the surprise leaders in the West and will travel to San Jose with some confidence after overcoming the L.A Galaxy last week. The Whitecaps have pulled off a couple of tight wins on the road so far in season 2015 and I'm tipping them to do the same at the Avaya Stadium

My Tip: DC United 2-1 NY Red Bulls

Portland v Orlando:

Orlando started the season with a bit of form with a draw against NYCFC and their maiden MLS win over Houston but are coming off the back of a late loss to DC United last week. Portland meanwhile are the opposite and threw early season form out the window in a 3-1 win over Dallas last week. I'm tipping the home side here to beat Kaka and the Lions.

 My Tip: Portland 1-0 Orlando

L.A Galaxy v Seattle Sounders:

This is potentially the match-up of the week. The struggling L.A Galaxy take on a Seattle side that are coming off a 1-0 win over Houston last week. The Galaxy are having a shocker in 2015 and were fairly poor in their 2-0 loss to Vancouver last time out. I think the Galaxy are due and I think they'll get the win on Monday morning Australian time.

My Tip: L.A Galaxy 2-0 Seattle
