2014/15 A-League Round 24 Tips

A-League Tips Round 24
*Another mistake in the graphics. It's actually Round 24.*

This isn't a clash I'll be watching for one as neither of these team are playing a very entertaining brand of football. Brisbane have failed to reach the heights of recent seasons whilst the Mariners have struggled to match their quality under former coach Graham Arnold.

Both teams are essentially playing for pride with the finals now out of reach so it's a hard one to predict. Being a Brisbane home game I think the Roar will get over the line. Don't expect more than one or two goals though.

My Tip: Brisbane 1-0 Central Coast

This is a very tough game to predict as the Wanderers host the travelling Melbourne City. Western Sydney will be looking to move away from the Jets at the bottom of the table whilst Melbourne City can take a huge step towards finals football with an away win.

City just got the job done last week against Brisbane but I think they'll be in for a tougher time at Parramatta. I'm hesitant towards tipping both teams so I'll go with a draw.

My Tip: Western Sydney 1-1 Melbourne City

Adelaide make another trip to Allianz Stadium following their previous A-League clash earlier this season along with their FFA Cup tie as well. Adelaide won both those game, including a 3-0 win in their Boxing Day A-League clash.

This time round though I think it'll be a different story. Both teams can move into temporary top spot on the table with a win and I'm tipping Sydney to do so. Marc Janko is back from the international break and I can see Sydney being fired up to keep their premiership hopes alive and well.

My Tip: Sydney FC 3-1 Adelaide United

It's a top of the table clash at Westpac Stadium when the Phoenix host Melbourne Victory. I think it's safe to call this one of the biggest games in the history of the Wellington Phoenix as they can potentially inch closer to lifting the Premiers' Plate at the end of the season.

Victory on the other hand cannot be underestimated. Gui Finkler put on a clinic in last week's win over the Mariners and the boys in blue are bred for success. Wellington were outdone 3-0 by Sydney last week and I'm tipping an away win for the Victory to take them to the top of the table.

My Tip: Wellington 1-2 Melbourne Victory

I'm not trying to be harsh but watching the Jets last week almost put me to sleep at times. During some stages the Jets can show some signs of brilliance but a severe lack in the final third has really taken its toll. Some of the missed chances last week were comical at best.

Perth Glory finally broke their winless streak last weekend but mid-week news about their alleged break of the salary cap might play a part this week. To be honest I'm not sure of all the details about Perth's troubles at the moment but on the field, they really need some form.

I'm tipping Perth to get the job done here. The premiership is still there for the taking and after ending their winless drought last week I'm sure the Glory boys will have what it takes against the Jets. The Glory have a history of good results in Newcastle and I think Easter Monday will be the same.

My Tip: Newcastle 0-2 Perth Glory
