FA Cup Quarter Final Tips

Quarter Final 1: Bradford City v Reading (Sat 7 Mar 11:45pm)

Bradford City's miracle run in the FA Cup has been nothing short of amazing and they'll look to knock off Reading and reach their first FA Cup Semi Finals in 104 years. Reading meanwhile are searching for their first Semi Final appearance since 1927 so history will no doubt be made later tonight at Valley Parade.

With Reading in a division higher than Bradford, logic and common sense would normally make them favourites but the Bantams have knocked off two Premier League sides in two FA Cup games, the surprise win over Sunderland and of course that famous 4-2 result at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea.

Bradford are marching towards Wembley but Reading are a dangerous opposition. They knocked out a highly-fancied Derby County side in their last cup outing and could very well make their own fairytale by securing a first Semi Final in 88 years.

I'm backing Bradford here. With the home support and the belief behind them I can see them knocking Reading out.

My Tip: Bradford City Win

Quarter Final 2: Aston Villa v West Bromwich Albion (Sun 8 Mar 2:00am)

With the first game being all about Semi Final droughts, these two Birmingham rivals have reached the penultimate stage of the FA Cup this century. It's hard to pick a winner here and the odds back me up.

The FA Cup is a standalone competition but the fact that Villa defeated West Brom just last week in the Premier League has me thinking they'll do the same again tonight.

My Tip: Aston Villa Win

Quarter Final 3: Liverpool v Blackburn Rovers (Mon 9 Mar 3:00am)

Anfield plays host to Liverpool v Blackburn and the Reds will be seeking any sort of chance to send Steven Gerrard off to the US with a final trophy. This competition is their last hope barring a major form slump for Chelsea, City and the likes in the top four.

Blackburn are the ranked outsiders and for good reason because I can't see Liverpool letting this one go. They got past Bolton after being forced into a replay a couple months back but this time I think they'll get the job done on the night.

My Tip: Liverpool Win

Quarter Final 4: Manchester United v Arsenal (Tues 10 Mar 6:45am)

Without doubt the game of the round sees Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford. Arsenal are of course the holders of the FA Cup and will fight tooth and nail to go back-to-back and win just their second major trophy in a decade.

Louis Van Gaal's team have been up and down all season and were staring down the barrel of elimination when they went down 1-0 to Preston last month. They'd come storming back but they won't find it as easy against the Gunners on Tuesday morning.

These two sides will be hoping to get the job done in one game and avoid adding a replay to their schedule but I can see this one going the distance and forcing a replay.

My Tip: Draw
