2014/15 EPL Tips-Matchday 30

2014/15 EPL Tips-Matchday 30

Manchester City have not had the best week over the last seven days. A horror 1-0 loss to Burnley saw their title hopes take a massive dent whilst FC Barcelona dumped them out of the Champions League mid-week. The Citizens will be hoping to bounce back against West Brom.

I've gone for a Man City win but any slip-up would not be a major surprise considering their recent form.

My Tip: Man City 2-0 West Brom

The mid-table games are always hard to predict and it will no doubt be the same for Crystal Palace's trip to Stoke City. Based on last weekend's results, Crystal Palace should be the favourites here after a 3-1 win over QPR but being at the Britannia I can't go past the home side.

Stoke is a hard place to travel to and I'm tipping the Potters to grab the three points against the Eagles.

My Tip: Stoke City 1-0 Crystal Palace

Leicester City are staring down the barrel of relegation and I'm pretty confident the mountain they need to climb will get higher at White Hart Lane. Tottenham need a win here to stay firmly in the race for the UEFA Europa League spots. The top four might be out of reach for Spurs but they can't afford to drop the ball in what should be a routine win against Leicester.

My Tip: Tottenham 3-0 Leicester City

Just like Tottenham, Southampton are locked on 50 points and are in desperate need of a win to keep themselves in the European race. A lack of form has seen the Saints drop from the top four and they need to turn it all around against Burnley.

I'm a bit cautious tipping against Burnley after their shock win over Manchester City that has allowed them to maybe see a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. They can climb out of the bottom three with a win and a bit of luck but I can't see the Saints letting this one go.

My Tip: Southampton 1-0 Burnley

Another tough game to predict as Aston Villa host Swansea City. Swansea are higher on the table but have lost their last two games against Tottenham and Liverpool respectively. Villa on the other hand have won two straight albeit against weaker opposition than what the Swans have been tasked with.

Being at Villa Park I want to tip the home side and I will. Tim Sherwood's men need a win to climb a bit further away from the drop zone and I'm backing them to get it against Swansea.

My Tip: Aston Villa 2-1 Swansea City

This is a massive game for Arsenal's European hopes. A loss here would open the door for Liverpool to draw level with a win in their game. Newcastle on the other hand are in that mid-table area where a win or a loss won't really change their season's destiny too much.

In simple words, Arsenal need to win this much more than Newcastle do. Not qualifying for the Champions League next season would be a disaster for the Gunners so I can't see them dropping any points at St James' Park this weekend.

My Tip: Newcastle 1-3 Arsenal

*Correct kickoff is at 4:30am (AEDT)

West Ham host Sunderland in a game that is very tough to call. The Hammers are the favourites but have been severely out of form whilst Sunderland have been horrific as of late. It'd be very easy to just follow the betting markets and back West Ham but Sunderland have brought in Dick Advocaat and shouldn't be written off so easily.

A change in manager a lot of the time will bring a first-up win. That being said I can't see the Black Cats grabbing all three points but a draw I can see happening. Hopefully for the fans watching not a 0-0 bore draw.

My Tip: West Ham 1-1 Sunderland

The headline game of the week sees Liverpool host rivals Manchester United at Anfield. A lot of people call this the biggest game in English football and certainly this time it has a lot riding on the result. I wouldn't declare Liverpool's top four hopes over if they lose but it would do massive damage to their chances if they drop all three points tonight.

Manchester United brushed aside a good Tottenham side last week and look to be in very dangerous form. However being at Anfield you simply can't write off the hosts. It's a tough game to predict but I'm going for the draw.

My Tip: Liverpool 2-2 Manchester United

This game is a very important one for Queens Park Rangers. A loss here would see them slip further away from safety. Everton on the other hand are coming off a big win last week over Newcastle but a big loss mid-week in the UEFA Europa League.

You'd think Everton would get the job done here but a team battling against relegation is always hard to predict.

My Tip: QPR 0-1 Everton

Chelsea should be done, dusted and over the horizon in the title race but a recent slip-up in form has seen them drop six points in five games. Whilst not catastrophic, Jose Mourinho would certainly be hoping they avoid dropping any points away to Hull City.

The Tigers are still hovering not far above the drop zone and a shock win here would see their hopes of survival take a huge boost but I'm predicting Chelsea will just be too strong for Hull.

My Tip: Hull City 0-2 Chelsea
